In Japanese, the word dojo means the place of the way. At Quantum, we strive to create a safe space for healing and self-actualization; a blank canvas for creating your journey. Our dojo is a large open space filled with natural light, right in the heart of San Francisco’s vibrant Mission District. With the help of our students and volunteers, we transformed this former yoga studio into a genuine martial arts dojo with a sprung-wood, rubber-matted, stretched-canvas floor, mirrored walls, training equipment including a ballet barre, rings, heavy bags, and climbing ropes, and men’s and women’s locker rooms. All are welcomed and treated with respect at Quantum, and students are invited to use the locker room that best aligns with their identity, or use our all-gender restrooms if preferred.
We are located on the third floor of 2390 Mission Street, Suite 305 (corner of 20th Street), with an after-hours entrance on the 20th Street side of the building. If you find the side entrance closed upon arriving for an evening class, please use the key pad to search for and dial “Quantum,” or type “305” and the instructor will buzz you in. If you have any challenges entering the building, please call (415) 810-1420.
To enter the front doors of the building, the door code is: 1217.
There is metered parking outside the building, one and two hour parking spots as close as one block away, and bike storage options on the street, and within the Dojo itself; bring your bike up with you! We are across the street from the 14 and 49 MUNI lines, and four blocks away from the 16th Street and 24th Street BART stops.
Accessibility:
Our third-floor Dojo is wheelchair accessible; no steps are required to enter the building, and the space is accessible by elevator as well as stairs. We keep our studio pristine and have powerful ventilation, but sometimes use incense and mildly scented cleaning products, and occasionally have a dog onsite. You can check our air quality in live-time here.
We offer wide benches for seating, as well as access to two all-gender restrooms on our floor. Our classes are primarily English-speaking, but we have a diverse community available for translation support, as well as several Spanish-written parent resources, available by request.
If you have any further questions or requests regarding accessibility, please don’t hesitate to reach out by calling (415) 810-1420 or emailing info@quantumsf.org. If you’d like to learn more about our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, please read our full statement here.
If you’d like to train in our Dojo, please consult our class schedule (for adults, teens, and kids) and contact us to set up your one week free trial and orientation with Master Evans.
