The Asterisk footwork form was written by Master Rachael Evans in March 2020, while the San Francisco Dojo was closed for social distancing during the CoVID-19 pandemic.
The form, which is yet to be officially named, is designed to be performed in a small space—6’ x 6’ for kids and 8’ x 8’ for adult students—and create a framework for a distance learning footwork lesson. The student will travel three shoulders-width distances in eight cardinal directions. Stage directions, such as painters tape on a hardwood floor, would greatly enhance the distance learning experience.
White Belts in Kids, Teens, and Adults Programs will begin learning the full footwork form, then be able to apply different techniques and combos from their rank curriculum. And yes, it will be on your next belt test!
Begin in a fighting stance. Form will be performed on each side.
